Here at The Physio Lounge we have a long-standing relationship with United Utilities providing Physiotherapy services to all employees either in person at one of our North West clinics or virtually online.
United Utilities cares about the health and well-being of their employees and we work together to ensure we provide easy access and the best possible care.
There are multiple ways in which you can access our services as a UU employee. Whether you are based at the head office Lingley Mere site, in a call centre in Whitehaven or out in the field, you can access our services as part of your employee benefits.
This clinic is for UU employees who work on site at Lingley Mere, if you don’t work on-site you are able to access any of our other clinics for appointments.
WPA
You can utilise your employee private health insurance for physiotherapy and we’ll bill WPA directly, leaving you to focus on your treatment and getting pain-free. Depending on the scheme you’re on (employee or management) you have varying levels of cover for Physio treatment:
- Employee (Basic) = £250 per year
- Employee (Top up) = £500 per year
- Management = up to 10 sessions per condition (when direct via WPA with GP referral)

A Step - by - Step Guide to the WPA Employee Scheme:
- Call WPA on 0800 9150809 and let them know that you would like to receive some physiotherapy
- They will ask your current symptoms
- They will ask which Physio you would like to see. Provide our lead Physio's name: Teala McEwan
- They should provide you with a claims reference code and a customer number which we will need to book you in.
- Email us at hello@physiolounge.co.uk with your claims reference code, the amount of sessions authorised and your customer number.
- Please also advise your preferred appointment dates and times.
- We will offer you some appointment options and book your assessment.

A Step - by - Step Guide to the WPA Managers Scheme:
- Contact your GP and advise you to have Private Health Insurance and would like to have Physio for your problem.
- The GP will need to simply add this to your notes.
- Call WPA on 0800 9150809 and let them know that you would like to receive some Physiotherapy and that you have a GP referral. (If you don't state that you have a GP referral you will be sent through Nuffield Health and not be able to see our Physiotherapist. Nuffield will also give you less sessions)
- They will ask your current symptoms
- They will ask which Physio you would like to see. Provide one of our lead Physio's names: Teala McEwan
- They will provide you with a claims reference code and a customer number which we will need to book you in.
- Email us at hello@physiolounge.co.uk with your claims reference code, the amount of sessions authorised, and your customer number.
- Please also advise your preferred appointment dates and times.
