Post Op Physiotherapy
A physiotherapy assessment can really help prevent and resolve any post-operative related problems, and to provide specialist advice and treatment to make your recovery easier.
Surgery is always something we would all like to avoid, but when it becomes an unavoidable option, our physiotherapists are on-hand to provide the guidance and rehabilitation that will make the most of your surgical outcome. After all, post-op success is only as good as your post-op rehabilitation.
The Physio Lounge work closely with a team of orthopaedic surgeons, who specialise in a range of many surgical procedures. Our relationships have been built up through our mutual care of professional athletes and members of the public alike, and our aim is to achieve the very best possible outcome when surgery is the only resolution.
Whether you are recovering from a minor knee procedure, complete shoulder reconstruction, or complex spinal surgery, our therapists have extensive experience and are on-hand to facilitate your recovery and get you back into action. Our services include:
- Specific post-operative rehabilitation plans
- High quality hands-on treatment
- Guidance in achieving your goals, whether it is a return to sport, or work
- On-going communication with your surgeon

What the treatment involves
During the initial assessment your physiotherapist will answer any questions that you may have following your procedure as well as ensuring that any post-operative braces/slings have been fitted correctly. You will then receive a thorough examination and clear specific goals in correlation with your post-operative rehabilitation protocol. Your physiotherapist will ask you about your lifestyle so that your rehabilitation plan can be tailored to your requirements, whether you’re eager to return to work or looking to return to a certain level of activity. You will receive any necessary hands-on physiotherapy treatment as well as being provided with your own specific rehabilitation plan, which can be reviewed on subsequent visits.
